‘Fridge Affair’ – Animated Short Film, 7’, 2007
Synopsis: In the Fridge, Tupperware is tired of being condemned to only having short relationships with his contents. Touched by the affection he feels for his new love the Chocolate Cake, the whole fridge community stands against the threat of another merciless separation. General Ketchup, the young Yoghurts and Cherry Tomatoes, the Kamikaze Sushis, and the strip-teasing Chocolate Mousse try their best to prevent the dreaded fate – but maybe the seemingly tragic end is not so tragic after all.

‘Fridge Affair’ was a 2D animation and After Effects group project produced during the EAM Plus – European Animation Masterclass, co-produced by IED – Istituto Europeo di Design di Milano, Italy and the Media Academy of Halle, Germany. The team had four months to take the project from concept to screen.

Bristol Radical Film Festival 2013 - Festival Ident (Mixed-Media), 30”

Status: October 2012 – In production

We are currently producing a mixed media ident for the second edition of the very successful Bristol Radical Film Festival that will take place in Spring 2013. The Bristol Radical Film Festival aims to screen some of the most socially and politically engaged documentary and experimental films from around the world, focusing in particular on British and Latin American work.

For the ident we are mixing stopmotion animation, with composited rotoscoping, cut-out and 2D animation. A good opportunity to work with a young yet esteemed alternative Bristol organisation and to explore new aesthetics and techniques.

‘Oddsockshire’ – Animated Feature Film (Stopmotion and CGI), 80′

Synopsis: Little did we know that the objects we lose and misplace end up happy and alive in the magical land of Oddsockshire. All objects love it – except for Brolly, who will need help from his new friends to return to his owner Luca. © Sara Barbas 2011

‘Oddsockshire’ is a project for an animated adventure family feature film aimed at 6-8 year old’s, with a lot of comedy and drama. Oddsockshire is about accepting loss and embracing change.

‘Oddsockshire’ was one of the six projects selected worldwide to be pitched in Annecy 2011 at the Creative Focus. The making of the presentation materials for the pitch was supported by the Open Workshop - the artistic residency hosted by The Animation Workshop in Denmark.

The pitch itself was well received and sparked international interest.
